Original oil on linen painting by Robert Daughters (American, 1929–2013). Dimensions: 20 x 16 inches. Includes frame. Sourced from a private collection. Robert Daughters was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. After high school graduation and three years in the military, he worked as Curator of Display at the St. Joseph Museum of Natural History while attending the Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design. His early work featured realistic drawings of Southwest Native Americans, oils of New Mexico landscapes, and Pueblo scenes. In 1972, he received the Best of Show Award, the Governor's Purchase Award, and the Merit Award at the New Mexico State Fair Show. He exhibited widely throughout the United States and internationally, including the 1981 Collection of Art of the West exhibition at the Beijing Exhibition Center in China, and was featured in the 1995 Covering the West - The Best of Southwest Art exhibition.
